The Concept of a Realtor in Today’s Social Media World

Has my role changed as Realtor over the past 23 years? I continue to believe that being objective, knowledgeable, timely, communicative, and trustworthy are the essentials of being a great listing or buyer’s agent. I still think those qualities are fundamental.  But social media has introduced a new image of Realtors—part entertainer, social media influencer, on-camera personality, and sometimes even a dancer.  Is that how consumers want me to represent them and their home?  No way.

Social media and tech continue to reshape the real estate industry. I fully embrace cutting-edge tools, everything HD when listing and marketing a home or providing top tier research and sales analytics to my buyer clients.  Leveraging Corcoran’s global branding and reach enhance my effectiveness but nothing beats a good face-to-face conversation or a healthy dose of dry humor to keep your clients at ease.  These are true essentials.

Embrace technology but don’t forgot who you are-a professional.  I’m at ease in front of a camera, sharing conversations and telling the story of a home. My focus is on creating a better real estate experience for my clients and building a strategy that truly serves their needs. I’m not aiming to be an influencer, pop star, or entertainer, nor am I chasing notoriety by starting a viral dance trend on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook. Just committed to being an exceptional Realtor.  What are you looking for?
